WHAT MAY THE FUTURE LOOK LIKE IF BACTERIA MAINTAIN THEIR CURRENT RATE OF RESILIENCE?

What Does This Mean for the Future?: Welcome

Where?, How?, What?

Resistant bacteria have been found in every county with documented cases for each ( Antibiotic resistance, 2018). Each of the bacteria identified within any given currently has spread, and counties to grow as time goes on. Bacteria itself is a single-celled organism that goal in life is, as any living things are, to ensure the survival of its species.  Therein, bacteria as a whole is not to terroir the human race; bacteria would much rather be in a symbiotic relationship with humans than a parasitic relationship. Regardless, certain bacteria kill human cell to quickly for humans to rejuvenation themselves causing sickness. Bacteria, as a whole, are not inherently evil and are just attempting to survive, but some bacteria cannot reproduce without harming their host causing issues for both species.

What Does This Mean for the Future?: About

AN UPHILL BATTLE FOR A FRUITLESS WAR

Given time bacteria will evolve to be resistant to all modern day antibiotics and cleaning produces. With scientist estimating that bacterial infections will outpace our current antibiotics by 50% in 2020 (Farrell, 2016). With the widespread resistance to antibiotics, there could be quite a higher mortality rate for those with weak immune systems across all continents, specifically elderly individuals and those in infancy. Currently, bacteria that have been resistant for a long period of time are becoming worrisome because more and more antibiotics are being used to treat them just making them stronger. STI's such as gonorrhea has recently also developed immunities to certain antibiotics. Ultimately, there will be a time where common bacteria are resistant to abnormal amounts of antibiotics or antibacterial material because they are living as all living things need to do to survive they evolve.
